Temps & Contractors
Code of Conduct
1. Always adhere to length of the assignments offered, unless of course a permanent opportunity arises. A minimum of a week’s notice would be useful should this happen in order for JU to supply another temp and ensure they are trained to take over the role.
2. If ever you have problems with your assignment or at home - do call us as soon as possible, we can often find a solution.
Q: What do I do if I have a problem at work?
A: If you feel comfortable to discuss this with your manager then please do, otherwise call us at JU and we will help you.
3. Please ensure you are 'well turned out' smart and comfortable. Should specific dress codes be required JU will always advise you.
Q: What do I wear for work? What is appropriate and not appropriate?
A: Office attire, office suit if the company prefers this, safety boots for outside – whatever is required for the role. We will always advise when we issue you your contract – but always call us if you are unsure. Personal hygiene is paramount – saves embarrassment, sadly many people take care of their personal hygiene then forget re: - their clothes, make sure your clothes are always clean and crisp.
4. Good timekeeping is essential!! If you have any problems please call us.
5. For interviews, try and make them early in the morning or last thing in the afternoon so that you don't lose so much of your hard earned cash! If we can help with interview techniques or details of companies, don't forget to call us.
6. Always ask when you can take lunch or indeed if you would like to shorten it and leave early, try and fit in with others.
7. If ever you do not have much to do ask around to see whom you can help. A willing worker is always appreciated!
8. In this day and age with people being reprimanded for misuse of E-Mails and such like, please treat all office machines with respect and ONLY for business purposes!
9. Health & Safety at work
When working at client companies it is your responsibility to ensure you remain and work in a safe environment. Should an accident occur please ensure details are written in the client's accident book and that the accident is reported to your Temps Controller at Johnson Underwood.
Any concerns re potential health hazards must be reported to Johnson Underwood ASAP and the Health and Safety officer where you are working.
NEVER undertake any task that would be against health and safety guidelines.
10. Any ideas for improving our service? Let us know and we'll be delighted to hear from you.
